Senior Design Generalist

Founded in 2017, okay bueno is a tight-knit team of 10 experienced Digital Product Designers, Engineers, and Strategists. We conceptualize, design, and develop digital products and experiences across all devices and technologies, building long-term relationships with our partners (you might know them as clients) to deliver impactful solutions.

Generalists at heart, we have expanded beyond traditional Product Design & Development into Strategic Research & Consulting and Digital Brand Design, allowing us to shape products holistically from concept to execution and beyond. This is our first Design position that isn’t labeled "Digital Product Designer". After all, we started okay bueno as a way to free ourselves from restrictive job roles, to grow and explore, and we want the job title to reflect this.

We enable team members to shift between Individual Contributor and Lead roles based on project needs and personal preferences. At our core, we’re curious generalists who love exploring and pushing boundaries—and we’re looking for someone with that same mindset to join us.

In this role, you will function as a Design Generalist. We expect you to have expertise in Product Design as well as a strong understanding of and general interest in any related design fields ranging from Visual, Brand, and Motion to AI, Code, and Rapid Prototyping.

Profile

  • A deep love for digital products and design
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in product design projects, including leadership roles
  • Strong sensibility for design aesthetics and emerging trends
  • Experience building and working with design systems
  • Natural problem-solver who finds elegant solutions to complex challenges
  • Curious-by-default with a constant drive to create, improve, and experiment
  • Genuine excitement for AI's role in design and rapid product development
  • Self-motivated with the ability to inspire others and plan efforts effectively
  • Strong understanding of the digital ecosystem and what makes products exceptional
  • Efficient communicator who's fluent in English
  • A good sense of humor and enjoyable presence on the team
  • You're either already located in Germany, Austria or able to work as a self-employed contractor within CEST ±2 time zone
