okay dobro!
As every year, we gathered the whole okay bueno gang in one place for our annual on/offsite. In the past, we've been to Gran Canaria, Vienna, Berlin, Rhodes, and Belgrade. This year’s destination: Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The trip started with a bus ride, at least for Milan, who somehow managed to queue up at the wrong gate, missing his flight, with the only alternative being a Flixbus about to take him all the way from Berlin to Ljubljana.
A minor hiccup — or a 16-hour bus ride across Poland, depending on who you ask — but he made it. That’s true team spirit.
By the time he arrived, the Captain’s Club stories were already flying around. A bar you can play your own tunes at? Don't mind if we do. Do play Darude on repeat, that is.
We stayed in two beautiful penthouse apartments with a huge terrace at NEU Residences, keeping up the “villa energy” from last year’s trip to Rhodes. The weather decided to go full drama mode with intense rain and grey skies, but that didn’t stop us from having a good time.
We wandered through the cobblestone streets of Ljubljana, visited the castle and on Mantas’ initiative, all touched the dragon bridge claws for good luck. Whether it worked or not, we’ll see next year.
Cooking was mostly swapped for snacking this time. Pizza boxes replaced pots and pans, and somehow that felt just right.
It's been quite a musical trip. From questionable playlists all day to a Live Jazz concert in the evening, we just couldn't get enough.
A few hours after the concert, between meeting a Finnish guy (now officially Esa’s new best friend) and celebrating his 50th birthday, we even found ourselves in the basement of an Irish pub, singing everything from Ke$ha to Time to Say Goodbye with full commitment and questionable vocal range.
No media allowed, sorry! Or shall we say, you're welcome?
Sleep was clearly optional. The Finnish among us seemed to operate on another level entirely — maybe caffeine, maybe vampire blood.
Somehow, between karaoke and deep talks at 3am, we even managed to work. Well, at least a little.
And we even got to collaborate together: from creating a new font to onboarding our new team member Chiara, who was brave enough to join us for a full week of living together, we gathered, talked, designed, and developed together.
We even ran a short workshop (short in Alex terms) about collaboration that turned into a long, surprisingly meaningful one. No "The Bear" references this year.
And some moments became small legends: Alex beating Deni in a planking challenge. Mantas being the official okay bueno arm wrestling champion. The whole team considering singer careers. All those pieces stitched together into a week that somehow felt bigger than the sum of its parts.
It was our biggest offsite so far. Bigger team, bigger laughs, and maybe a few bigger hangovers. Always a good reminder that behind the screens, there's actual people.
